High pressure will continue to move slowly eastward from the
Florida Peninsula into the Western Atlantic waters. This will keep
allow for the wind to swing slowly from an southeast direction
tonight to a southerly direction by late Tuesday while keeping the
weather dry over South Florida.

Lows tonight will again be able to fall into the 60s over the
metro areas to mid to upper 50s over the interior areas. Highs on
Tuesday will once again get up into the mid to upper 80s over most
areas, except lower to mid 80s over the metro areas of South
Florida.

.LONG TERM...
(Tuesday night through next Sunday)

Mid level troughing will gradually push into the western Atlantic
towards the middle of the week as a strengthening mid level ridge
centered over the southwest Gulf gradually pushes eastward
through the end of the week. At the surface, a very weak frontal
boundary will push through South Florida on Tuesday night into
early Wednesday. With a dry air mass firmly in place, chances of
showers out ahead of the front will remain extremely limited to
non existent Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Behind the front, a large area of high pressure centered off to
the north will dominate the weather pattern across South Florida
as it pushes across the Southeast during the second half of the
week. As high pressure pushes eastward, it will quickly allow for
winds to veer and become northeasterly on Wednesday, and then
easterly heading into Thursday and Friday. At the same time, the
surface high will be strengthening which will allow for the
pressure gradient across South Florida to increase for the end of
the week resulting in breezy conditions especially across the
east coast. High temperatures on Wednesday through Friday wont
change much as they will rise into the lower 80s across the east
coast metro areas and into the upper 80s to around 90 across
interior portions of Southwest Florida.

Not much change in the weather pattern across South Florida for
the upcoming weekend as mid level ridging centers right over the
Florida Peninsula and strong surface high pressure remains parked
over the western Atlantic. This will result in dry conditions
holding steady along with a moderate easterly wind flow. High
temperatures on Saturday and Sunday will generally rise into the
lower 80s along the east coast and into the upper 80s to around 90
across Southwest Florida.

The winds will be from the easterly direction around 10 knots this
afternoon before going light and variable tonight over most of
the TAF sites. The only exception is at KAPF TAF site where the
winds will westerly this afternoon. Ceiling and Vis will remain in
the VFR conditions with dry weather at all of the TAF sites
through tonight.

The winds will be southeast at less than 10 knots tonight before
going light and variable on Tuesday ahead of a weak cold front.
The winds will then swing to a northwest direction by Wednesday
with speeds increasing 10 to 15 knots by Wednesday evening behind
the passage of a weak cold front. The winds will then continue to
swing to a northeast direction and increase to breezy conditions
by end of this week as the pressure gradient tightens over South
Florida.

The seas will be 2 feet or less in both the Atlantic and Gulf
waters through Wednesday before increasing to 2 to 4 feet by end
of this week over the Atlantic waters.

.FIRE WEATHER...
Issued at 1221 PM EDT Mon Apr 14 2025

The dry air will remain in place over South Florida through
Tuesday allowing for the relative humidities to fall into the 40s
over the metro areas to 30-33 over the interior areas this
afternoon and again on Tuesday afternoon. However, the 20 foot
winds will remain below 15 mph. Therefore, NO fire weather
watches or warnings will be needed for South Florida through
Tuesday.
