KEY MESSAGES: - Upper level low that is bringing light rain showers south and east of the Missouri River will begin to push off to our east later tonight. - Temperatures will rebound Tuesday then back to cooler temperatures Wednesday and Thursday with chances for rain and gusty west to northwest winds. WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW: Upper level Low over Wyoming/southern Montana will track into North Dakota tonight. Showers and embedded thunderstorms will gradually diminish southeast of Fort Peck Lake tonight as a result. A progressive upper pattern will allow an upper ridge to briefly bring a sunny warm day to the area Tuesday, especially closer to central Montana. Winds will increase from the south but should stay less than Lake Wind Advisory criteria. Then a cold front will march east across the area Tuesday Night as an upper low moves east along the Montana/Canada border Wednesday and Thursday. This will bring some chances for rain showers mainly north of the Missouri River and cooler temperatures. Gusty west to NW winds will likely be strong enough to require a Lake Wind Advisory for Fort Peck Lake. An upper level ridge will build back into the area for Labor Day weekend, bringing a return to warmer and drier conditions.
