Localized areas of Severe (D2) Drought Conditions existed across north Mississippi. Several systems brought rainfall across this area and heavier banding and training storms were able to provide drought relief on the western side of north Mississippi. Areas near the Mississippi River recorded 8 to 12 inches of rain throughout the month. As a result, conditions improved to Moderate (D1) Drought and Abnormally Dry (D0). Unfortunately, areas to the east remained on the lighter end of rainfall amounts which resulted in a continuation of Severe Drought Conditions for the remainder of the month.

Issued at 300 PM CST Sat Nov 30 2024 Dry weather with below normal temperatures will continue through Tuesday night. Temperatures will moderate by Wednesday as south winds bring milder air into the region. Scattered showers are expected to move across the Mid-South from Wednesday night through Friday as a cold front moves through the region on Thursday. && .DISCUSSION... (This evening through next Friday) Issued at 300 PM CST Sat Nov 30 2024 Skies are partly cloudy across the Mid-South this afternoon with temperatures ranging from the mid 40s to mid 50s. A cold front is located across southern Missouri and into central Oklahoma. The front will move into the region tonight and will continue to drop south into central Mississippi on Sunday. With very little moisture ahead of the front, no precipitation is expected. Temperatures will not be as cold tonight with lows Sunday morning in the upper 20s to mid 30s. Cooler air will move into the region behind the front on Sunday with highs in the mid 40s to mid 50s. High pressure builds back into the region Sunday night bringing another period of dry weather and below normal temperatures for Sunday night through Tuesday night. By Wednesday, high pressure will be east of the region bringing a return of south winds to the Mid-South. Milder air will return to the region along with an increase in moisture. Another cold front will drop south toward the region on Thursday and then reaching central Mississippi on Friday.
