...New UPDATE...
.UPDATE...
Issued at 905 AM EDT Tue Sep 3 2024
Current-Tonight...Earlier activity along the Treasure Coast has
dissipated, but there is still WDLY SCT convective coverage across
the Gulf Stream. Would not be surprised to see, again, earlier
convective initiation along both (east/west coast) sea breezes
with numerous boundary interactions thru the afternoon. The daily
breeze will be more onshore with the sea breeze penetrating
further and quicker into the interior this afternoon. Coverage and
intensity should increase during the afternoon and early evening.
Primary storm impacts remain cloud-to-ground lightning strikes,
gusty winds locally up to 40-45 mph, and heavy downpours with the
potential to produce locally high rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches
in a 60 to 90 minute period, especially where training or
multiple rounds occur. Storm motion will be slowly towards the
north, but erratic movement is anticipated as various boundaries
collide. Activity should pile up across the interior by late
afternoon and will gradually diminish thru around sunset. Clouds
will slowly thin thru the late evening and overnight.
Afternoon highs in the U80s to L90s with peak heat indices, before
any precip relief, topping out anywhere from 102-107F. Conditions
remain humid overnight with lows in the 70s areawide.

.AVIATION...
(12Z TAFs)
Issued at 727 AM EDT Tue Sep 3 2024
This morning's SHRA/TSRA has cleared out KFPR-KMLB for now, and
remains mostly south of KSUA, but expect activity to pick back up
along the coast again after 14Z. Possibly another early start to
SCT-NUM SHRA/TSRA at inland terminals and KDAB late this morning.
Went ahead and added VCSH at 15Z to all terminals, kept VCTS
timing of 18Z for now, and added TEMPOs for +TSRA impacts at 19Z.
Will need to closely monitor trends and may need to AMD VCTS and
TEMPOs earlier. Sea breeze developing around 16Z should keep bulk
of TSRA west of KTIX-KSUA, so held off TEMPOs there. Mostly clear
conditions after 00Z, but debris -SHRA and ISO TSRA could linger
later inland, and onshore moving SHRA remain possible, especially
INVOF KMLB-KSUA.

.MARINE...
Issued at 510 AM EDT Tue Sep 3 2024
High pressure over the eastern Great Lakes this morning will push
east and off the New England coast Wed while also building down
the eastern seaboard, bridging the weak trough laying just north
of the local waters. The result will be more of an E/SE flow with
speeds remaining below 15 knots thru Thu. Winds veer more
southerly Fri-Sat as a weak boundary settles into north Florida.
Seas 2-3 ft today, increasing 4-5 ft offshore Wed-Thu as some N/NE
swell propagate into the waters, back down to 2-4 ft areawide on
Fri-Sat.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for east central Florida.
.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.
.THUNDERSTORM IMPACT...
Scattered showers and isolated lightning storms over the Atlantic
waters and Treasure Coast will shift inland this afternoon with the
east coast sea breeze and increase in intensity and coverage. Cell
motion will be from south to north this morning but become lower and
more erratic this afternoon over northern and interior sections,
especially with additional boundary collisions. A few stronger
storms may produce gusty winds 40 to 45 mph and frequent cloud to
ground lightning.
.EXCESSIVE RAINFALL IMPACT...
Slow moving or persistent heavier showers or storms will have the
potential to produce locally higher rainfall totals of 2 to 4
inches in a 60 to 90 minute period. These amounts could produce
minor flooding of roadways and poor drainage areas, especially
where recent heavy rains have occurred.
.RIP CURRENT AND SURF IMPACT...
A Moderate Risk for dangerous rip currents continues at all central
Florida Atlantic beaches today. Always swim near a lifeguard, and
never swim alone.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
Scattered to numerous showers and lightning storms are forecast
each afternoon this week. Heavy rainfall, lightning strikes and
gusty winds will remain the primary threats.
Heat and humidity will produce peak heat index values 102 to 106.
At least a Moderate risk of dangerous rip currents is expected to
continue at the beaches into next week.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be needed today and tonight.
