The first triple digits of the season occurred starting May 27 in Tucson through the end of the month. The warmest day occurred on May 28 with a high of 103 in Tucson. Hot temperatures occurred throughout southeast Arizona. On May 28, Moderate Heat Risk category was reached. The Pima County Medical Examiner confirmed that heat was the cause of death in one individual.
