.SYNOPSIS...
A cloudy an cooler mostly cloudy and cooler with afternoon
temperatures in the 70s is expected. There will be another chance
of afternoon thunderstorms Friday and some will be capable of
producing locally heavy rain. The weekend will feature afternoon
temperatures in the upper 70s and 80s with a chance of afternoon
showers and thunderstorms over the Idaho Panhandle.

.DISCUSSION...
Today and Saturday: A Low, currently over Southern WA, is
continuing to impact the Pacific Northwest. While the period will
start off in a lull, an incoming band of moisture will stretch
across the North Idaho and Washington. While it is not expected to
be as broad yesterdays system, ensembles are highlighting isolated
heavy rain pockets producing around 0.25"/hr rain rates. For this,
the Flash Flood Watch continues for these area through the morning.
For the afternoon, another round of thunderstorms is expected most
of the region. One area of concern is the Lower ID Panhandle. Models
continue to push a strong wave of moisture and instability into the
area particularly Shoshone County. While instability is not as great
as Thursday, flash flooding, lightning, and gusty winds are still
possible. The flash flood watch has been extended for Shoshone into
the afternoon. The rest of the Inland Northwest can expect a quieter
day. Isolated showers with an occasional lightning is expected.
Highs will drop 70s for today with cloudy skies. Lows will dip into
the 50s.
For Saturday, the low and moisture is pushed East as high pressure
ridge over the Pacific begins to press into the region. Isolated
shower and afternoon thunderstorms are possible but generally over
the mountains and expected to be shirt lived. Highs will creep a few
degrees higher into the the upper 70s and 80s. Lows continue to stay

18Z TAFs: There is a 40-60 percent chance of showers and
thunderstorms from 20z-02z for Lewiston, Pullman, Spokane and
Coeur d'Alene. Stratus will develop overnight Friday leading to
low to mid level cloud decks.
