...New AVIATION...

.SHORT TERM...
(Tonight through Monday night)
Issued at 320 PM CDT Sun Apr 30 2023

Southerly low level flow will increase to 30 knots over the Brush
Country and to 20 knots for the coastal plains tonight due to a
low pressure area over southwest Texas. The surface winds will
remain slightly elevated tonight and keep minimum temperatures
around 10 degrees warmer than this morning.

With the low pressure area over southwest Texas, the winds will
increase Monday with breezy conditions over the Coastal Bend in
the afternoon. Highs will be similar to today with readings near
or slightly above normal.

Low level moisture will return with the stronger south-southeast
flow Monday night. Clouds are expected to increase during the
overnight hours. Lows will be in the lower to mid 60s inland
to around 70 coast and along the Rio Grande Monday night.

.LONG TERM...
(Tuesday through next Saturday)
Issued at 320 PM CDT Sun Apr 30 2023

A weak surface ridge will continue over the Gulf of Mexico,
resulting in an influx of moisture over South Texas. Quiet weather
is expected Tuesday and Wednesday as moisture will still be limited
to the lower levels. By Thursday, enough moisture will have returned
to interact with a series of shortwaves, resulting in a slight
chance to chance of precipitation as we move into the weekend. It is
hard to determine timing right now, but with a bit more confidence,
have increased PoPs slightly. As mentioned in the previous
forecast, deterministic models continue to show higher PoPs so it
would not be surprising to continue the increase in forecast rain
coverage late this week.

.AVIATION...
(06Z TAFS)
Issued at 1250 AM CDT Mon May 1 2023

VFR conditions throughout this period with mainly some high clouds
over the area. An increasing low level jet tonight could lead to a
brief period of LLWS at COT and ALI late in the night into the
early morning with 35-40kt around 1500-2kft. Surface winds become
moderate during the daytime on Monday then drop back to low levels
after sunset. Will begin to see some lower clouds by the end of
this period, but not enough for MVFR conditions yet.

&&

.MARINE...
Issued at 320 PM CDT Sun Apr 30 2023

A weak onshore flow this evening will increase to moderate/SCEC
conditions over the Gulf waters by early Monday morning. The flow
is expected to decrease slightly with a weak to occasionally
moderate onshore flow occurring for the rest of Monday into Monday
night.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible late this week.
Light to moderate southeasterly flow will continue into the weekend.
