(This evening through Sunday)

Satellite and observations continue to show a basically
stationary front extending from northeast Sterling County
southeast to just north of San Angelo and then back towards Brady.
Cu field along this boundary continues to look better and probably
just a matter of time before storms begin to develop. North of
there, the main cold front is pushing south across the Big Country
where the mesonet at Weinert is already down to 59 degrees. Cold
front will also continue south and as it overtakes the stationary
front we expect storms to blossom and become more widespread. best
rain chances this evening will be across the Heartland and Hill
Country.

Cold front continues south thru the area this evening and we may
see a brief lull in the precipitation before isentropic lift up
and over the frontal boundary starts to generate more widespread
showers and a few storms. This will continue into Sunday and help
produce much cooler temperatures. Highs in the 50s expected for
Sunday, and areas seeing precipitation in the afternoon may stay
in the 40s.

...Chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms continues into
midweek...

Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue Sunday
night, increasing Monday morning as several weak disturbances aloft
move across. There will be a warming trend back to highs in the 60s
Monday, as southeast to south winds return. Continued warming is
expected Tuesday with highs jumping back into the the lower to mid
80s. A weak cold front then moves into the Big Country Tuesday
night, with a stronger cold front Wednesday. As far as severe
storms, instability should be limited Monday, but there is more
instability Tuesday with GFS SBCAPES up to 2000 J/KG, so cant rule
out a an isolated severe storms. On Wednesday, again a few severe
storms, possible, mainly south of the cold front, which should be
south of I-20. There are also more upper dynamics in play Wednesday
as a shortwave/upper low moves across North Texas/Oklahoma, but it
may dryslot portions of West Central Texas, particularly southwest
sections. Cooler temperatures temporarily return Thursday, but
temperatures rapidly warm back up into the 80s Friday with south
winds. A possible cold front returns early Saturday.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of west central
Texas.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

Strong to severe storms are possible across portions of West
Central Texas late this afternoon and this evening, mainly along
and south of a Brownwood to San Angelo to Ozona line. Large hail
will be the main threat, along with dangerous lightning,
damaging winds, and locally heavy rainfall. An isolated tornado
will also remain possible.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

The threat for widespread hazardous weather is low.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will likely be requested for portions of the
Concho Valley, Heartland, Northwest Hill Country, and Northern
Edwards Plateau for late this afternoon and evening.

and west central Runnels Counties through 330 PM CDT...

At 256 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Maverick, moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Ballinger, Maverick, Hatchel, Norton and Ballinger Lake.
