VFR conditions will prevail. Low pressure across the TX/OK border
and a front developing in OK has kept winds stronger overnight
than previously anticipated and therefore, winds will be stronger
on Tuesday. Southwesterly winds gusting up to 20kts at times will
gradually becoming southeasterly by the afternoon. Rain chances
minimal with high pressures still overhead in Southeast Texas.

.SHORT TERM [Through Tuesday Night]...
Hot, humid, and generally rain-free conditions are expected to
persist across SE TX for most of the upcoming week. Broad upper
ridging to our west/northwest continues to dominate the synoptic
pattern, while broad surface high pressure over the southeastern
CONUS has allowed for a persistent moderate onshore wind. We've seen
many locations with high temperatures in the triple digits as of 3
PM today, and as the upper ridge remains dominant over the area we
should see a slight warming trend over the next several days.
Highs tomorrow will reach around 100-103 across the northern zones,
near 100 across the Houston metro, and in the upper 90s closer to
the coast. Have opted to again reduce dewpoints compared to NBM
values as it continues to exhibit apparent issues with daytime
mixing. Despite this, we should still see heat index values right
around 108 across most of the area, and as a result the Heat
Advisory in effect for tomorrow has been extended to include all non-
coastal counties. Heat safety remains critical at this time, and
taking protective actions like staying well-hydrated and avoiding
strenuous activity during the hottest parts of the day are very
important.
Overnight lows remain in the upper 70s across inland areas and lower
80s along the coast. Precipitation chances continue to be hampered
by strong subsidence aloft as made apparent in model soundings.

.LONG TERM [Wednesday Through Monday]...
The mid/upper ridge is likely to reach peak intensity over the
area on Wednesday, so expecting the heat advisory will extend
across most if not all of the area to start this period. A mid level
disturbance will round the base of the mid/upper ridge on Friday
and this will likely help to produce isolated showers/storms with sfc
heating during the aft hours. Continued hot over the weekend with a
slight chance of mainly afternoon showers/storms as the ridge migrates
from being centered north of the area to northeast of the area.

Hot and dry weather conditions are expected most of the week. Added
a caution statement for southerly winds tonight offshore in the 15 to 20
kt range. In general, expecting moderate onshore winds this week,
although am expecting winds to decrease some at the end of the week and
into the weekend.
