Low-level convergence and frontogenesis fueled the heavier rainfall rates. Flooding was noted near Woodsville in Monroe County.

.SYNOPSIS...
Rain and cooler temperature expected through Saturday evening
with the slow passage of a low pressure system. Dry and
seasonably warm weather will develop starting next week.

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM SATURDAY MORNING/...
Low pressure will continue its slow advancement across the Ohio
Valley region tonight. Weak convergence/low lvl frontogenesis,
has resulted in bands of enhanced rainfall rates across a
portion of the area. See the latest flood warnings issued for
these areas.
The convergence, and resulting potential for locally heavy rain,
should continue to shift sewd overnight as the sfc low tracks
further ewd, and wind becomes a more uniform NE direction across
the area. Continued the flood watch as is through 8 am Saturday.

.SHORT TERM /6 AM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY/...
Rain will move ewd through Saturday evening as forcing for
ascent becomes displaced from the area. Temperature will remain
cool on Saturday, with clouds lingering for the day and nely sfc
wind.
As skies begin to clear on Sunday night with building high
pressure, and continued nely flow, cold temperature is possible
in the ridges and north of I 80 where lows could drop into the
30s.

.LONG TERM /SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/...
Long range model ensembles indicate a dry period of weather
through the long term, with dominant high pressure, and warm
temperature.

.AVIATION /02Z SATURDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
Although rain is expected to diminish in coverage and intensity
with a weakening wind profile overnight, widespread IFR wl
prevail into Saturday as low pres digs slowly toward the Mid
Atlantic Region.
Improvement to MVFR is anticipated as Saturday afternoon progresses
and areas of fog are likely to plague terminals on Sunday morning,
but overall improvement will get underway thereafter with
building high pres.

That lofty ridge of high pres is progged to provide genl VFR for
the remainder of next week.
