Across northwest Aroostook county...west of the low track...colder air allowed precipitation to fall in the form of heavy snow. Snow began during the evening of the 17th and persisted into the morning of the 18th. Warning criteria snow accumulations occurred during the morning of the 18th. Storm total snow accumulations across the Saint John Valley ranged from 5 to 8 inches. Warmer air being drawn north led to a wintry mix across the remainder of northern Maine which led to lesser snow accumulations along with sleet and freezing rain.
