Today-Midweek: Not to sound like a broken record, but today's
pattern, very similar to yesterday. The mid-upper level ridge
remains in place. However, today there is a surface trough situated
over northeast FL bringing added moisture to an already moist
column. The light flow in the surface to mid levels means slow
moving convection once again. PWAT values from this morning's
sounding showed 2.3in, supporting scattered to numerous showers
today. Showers are beginning to develop in the interior along the
SE flow pushing them towards the NW. More showers should begin to
pop up along the coastal areas as the sea breeze begins to take
form and provide more lift. Showers and storms will once again be
pushed back towards the west coast later this evening and begin to
quiet down around 02Z. As mentioned before, the potential for
localized flooding is a concern with slow moving convection,
especially in areas that have seen multiple days of rain. WPC has
also mentioned in their mesoscale precipitation discussion the
concerns or torrential downpours for our northern and coastal
counties stating some areas could receive 3+"/hour. Be aware of
your surroundings and when in doubt remember, turn around, don't
drown.
Midweek: The current pattern persists through mid week. Mid week
a slight change occurs as the mid level ridge extending from the
mid Atlantic begins to break down. Models are hinting at lower
PWATS moving from SE to NW along the peninsula Wed-Thur. Still
enough moisture will be available for typical afternoon
showers.The pressure gradient remains weak and flow will remain
light, allowing for slow moving showers and heavy rainfall.
End of week: Mid level ridging begins to strengthen off the east
coast strengthening the SE flow, and bringing the more typical
summertime patter of showers in the interior in the afternoon moving
towards the coast in the evening.

The light SE flow has begun to turn more westerly with the sea
breeze along the coast. VFR conditions should prevail except when
showers and storms move through the area. Best chances for
convection ranges from 19-02Z for all sites.
