Deaths and injuries are direct and indirect together, as the offices filed them. Damage is property and crops in the dollars of the year, not adjusted for inflation, and only where an office estimated it.
Dry cold front over the area moved eastward into the Atlantic waters while high pressure was over the Gulf of Mexico. This tightened the pressure gradient over the area. Sunny skies helped to mix down stronger winds to the surface. A Wind Advisory was in effect for northeast FL and southeast GA in order to account for stronger non-convective wind gusts ranging from 40-60 mph.

.AVIATION...
[Through 18Z Sunday]
Strong winds with gusts up to 40 knots will peak over the next
hour and diminish through the rest of day. Winds will sharply
decrease to 5 knots or less this evening with surface decoupling.
Scattered to broken stratocumulus will continue to pivot across
the area this afternoon before skies clear tonight. Light WNW to
NW winds will persist through the early afternoon Sunday with SKC.
There is a small chance for very localized ground fog formation
during the predawn hours Sunday but confidence is much too low to
include any mention at this time.

.PREV DISCUSSION [914 AM EDT]...
.NEAR TERM [Through Tonight]...
A deep, broad upper level trough axis extends north to south
from the eastern Great Lakes south across the OH and the TN
valleys down into the FL Gulf coast while strong mid/upper
level ridging emerges from the Rockies into the upper plains.
At the surface is a trough is sliding through our area bringing
a few to scattered low to mid level clouds, but no showers as
westerly winds 5-15 mph persist early this morning. Temperatures
have cooled slowly into the low/mid 50s despite mostly clear
skies due to the elevated overnight winds, but inland areas
are still expected to fall into the low/mid 40s inland while
holding in around 50 at the immediate coast.
The base of the deep upper trough axis will move over the
area by early this afternoon and support another trough/dry
cold front to sweep eastward into the Atlantic waters while
approaching high pressure from the Gulf of Mexico increases
the local pressure gradient. Along with mostly sunny skies
will have the effect of mixing down higher winds above the
surface 15-25 mph with gusts to 35-45 mph and a wind advisory
is set to go into effect starting noon today into 6PM to
cover the expected windy conditions which may blow down tree
limbs and unsecured objects, along with the possibility of
a few power outages today. Highs will be well below normal
today due to the cold air advection associated with the NW
flow aloft arriving as the the deep trough axis shifts east
of the area today.
Tonight, Winds will gradually wane after sunset due to the
lack of mixing and high pressure migrating over the region
from the eastern Gulf. Clear skies and cold air advection
will allow for maximum radiational cooling. Patchy frost
may develop over SE GA areas west of I-95 down with some
patchy fog possible over areas that received several inches
of rainfall this past week as winds lighten to near calm
before sunrise late tonight. Lows will be in the mid/upper
30s over inland SE GA, upper 30s west of the St Johns river
in NE FL and low/mid 40s along from the St Johns river east
to the coast.
.SHORT TERM [Sunday Through Monday]...
Sunday & Sunday night, mostly clear skies and light winds will
prevail as surface high pressure builds eastward and eventually
offshore of the FL Atlantic coast as a weak mid level ridge
begins to develop across the region. This will continue the
warming trend with highs warming into the mid 70s Sunday with
overnight lows Sunday night moderating into the mid/upper 40s
inland to 50s along the local Atlantic coast.
Monday & Monday night...Continued dry with a warming trend under
near zonal flow aloft and low level ESE flow as the surface ridge
builds east of the local waters. Better fog potential develops
overnight as dew pts increase from east to west under the light
easterly flow. At this time indicated patchy fog after midnight
Monday night in the forecast. Temperatures will moderate above
normal values into the 80s inland to 70s along the Atlantic coast
with low temps in the 50s Mon night.
.LONG TERM [Tuesday Through Saturday]...
Tue & Wed...Dry and increasingly warm as an upper ridge amplifies
across the deep south and the surface high builds ENE of the
local area with both Atlantic and Gulf coast sea breezes developing
under southerly low level flow. Expect diurnally developed cumulus
clouds both days with possibly a few light sprinkles Wed aftn/evening
inland where the sea breezes converge as a weak short wave trough
passes overhead as the upper ridge breaks down and shifts eastward.
Temperatures will moderate above normal values into the mid/upper
80s with low temps in the 60s.
Thu & Fri...Rain chances increase as a weak frontal system edges
eastward across the region. There remained model discrepancies
with the timing of the system, with the latest 00z ECMWF more
progressive and wet Thu while the GFS trended slower with the
system and dry Thu. Continued with a consensus which advertised a
low chance (20-30%) of afternoon showers/isolated t'storms by Thu
with higher rain chances into as the frontal boundary begins to
stall across the region as upper level becomes near zonal. The
lack of strong dynamical forcing does not favor severe storms at
this time, but the stalling front will bring a wet start to the
weekend. Temperatures will continue above normal in the 80s to
near 90 for some inland areas Thu, then temps trend cooler Fri
with increased cloud cover and rain chances. Lows will generally
range in the 60s.
.MARINE...
Buoys reporting a lull in winds this morning but expect strong
winds to impact area waters once again later this morning and
continuing through the evening. Gusts to gale and seas 6 to 8 feet
offshore. to will continue through the afternoon before receding
tonight as high pressure develops over the Florida Peninsula. High
pressure will remain dominant through the middle of next week. An
approaching frontal system will bring increasing southerly winds
and the potential for thunderstorms late next week.
Rip Currents: SE GA Low through Sunday
NE FL Low through Sunday
.FIRE WEATHER...
Elevated fire danger today for parts of SE Georgia due to low
humidity, strong wind gusts and high dispersion.
Dry conditions and windy westerly winds are expected today with
gusts of 30-40 mph by midday into early evening as minimum
humidity crashes into 20-30% range. Very high dispersion near 100
units is expected. Despite the very dry and windy conditions,
recent rainfall continues to elevate fuel moisture and thus red
flag conditions are not expected. In addition, KDBIs remain very
low across northeast Florida, limiting wildfire concerns. Sunday,
winds will be much weaker and variable at times as surface high
pressure builds directly over the area. Low humidity will continue
in the 20-30% range with lower dispersion and stable conditions.
.HYDROLOGY...
Minor river flooding continued along portions of the Santa Fe at
Fort White and Three Rivers Estates. Fort White will be falling
out of flood stage later today.
