Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin FL 241 PM EDT Fri Apr 29 2022 .DISCUSSION... Surface high pressure remains centered over the mid-Atlantic coast this afternoon and will slowly shift eastward over the Atlantic Ocean over the next couple of days. A mainly easterly or east- southeasterly low-level flow will continue through the weekend with the west coast sea breeze forming each afternoon. Moisture will be on the rise, especially for Saturday, and this will help fuel additional convection along the sea breeze during the afternoon hours. This overall pattern sticks around for much of the week, with some subtle changes in moisture leading to changes in rain chances each day. By late in the week, the surface ridge axis shifts south a bit, with low-level flow becoming more southerly on Thursday and then southwesterly on Friday, again leading to a shift in the highest rainfall coverage. && .AVIATION... VFR conditions are expected outside of any convection. VCTS continues through the rest of the evening, with some TEMPO groups in place for brief MVFR/IFR cigs/vsbys and increased winds in storms. Conditions return to rain-free and VFR overnight with easterly winds. A similar pattern is expected for Saturday. && .MARINE... High pressure to our north will keep mainly easterly winds in place for the next few days, though the sea breeze will turn winds onshore during the afternoon. Wind speeds will increase tonight to the 15-20 knot range or low-end advisory range and then diminish for Saturday. && .FIRE WEATHER... No fire weather concerns as relative humidity values will remain above critical levels. There will be a chance for showers and thunderstorms each afternoon through the weekend, with the best chances toward the coast in the late afternoon and evening. Charlotte County Airport, or 7 miles east of Punta Gorda. This storm
was nearly stationary.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
