(This evening through Wednesday) Issued at 145 PM CST Tue Nov 30 2021 Overall benign weather should continue through Wednesday afternoon as weak ridging will build in over Texas during this time. A weak shortwave will pass through the northwest flow aloft tonight, but this should do nothing more than shift winds to the northwest. Low temperatures will be in the mid 40s, with mostly clear skies, although some patchy fog will be possible in our southeast counties toward sunrise. Tomorrow, winds will be fairly light with partly cloudy skies as well. Given the aforementioned ridging, temperatures will be in the low to mid 70s, which is about ten degrees above normal for this time of year. && .LONG TERM... (Wednesday night through next Tuesday) Issued at 149 PM CST Tue Nov 30 2021 Our string of unseasonably warm and dry days will continue through the end of the work week. Thursday and Friday will see temperatures climb into the upper 70s and lower 80s as southwesterly down slope flow develops. An upper level trough over the Plains will send a cold front down into the area on Saturday although the GFS and ECMWF have backed off somewhat on the strength of the front. Still, temperatures should be closer to seasonal normals for Saturday and Sunday. Another (maybe stronger) front may move into the area on Monday. This front looks mainly dry although we could see a few scattered light showers mainly across our southwestern counties. All in all a very benign pattern across west central Texas for the first week of December. && .AVIATION... (06Z TAFS) Issued at 1014 PM CST Tue Nov 30 2021 VFR conditions expected for the next 24 hours. Winds will remain light at less than 10 kts through the period. Near sunrise tomorrow, winds will shift to a more westerly direction but will still remain light. The NAM continues to be the only model to hint at brief periods of patchy fog between 13-16Z for our KJCT and KSOA terminals. If the low level moisture can lift north into our area, fog may need to be added but with limited confidence of its occurence at this point, will hold off on this current package. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
