.SHORT TERM...
(Today and tonight)
Issued at 425 AM CST Tue Mar 2 2021

Rain chances continue to diminish to the east as the light radar
echos continues to exit the region to the east. As the upper level
cyclone exits to the east Tuesday, a ridge shifts eastwards and
expands into the region. This will result in clear skies and warming
temperatures throughout the day. Winds will become uniform out of
the southwest through Tuesday afternoon and increase through the
daytime hours, with winds becoming breezy in portions of western
Oklahoma. Winds will diminish through the evening and settle out of
the south. Temperatures will continue to be seasonal, with highs
expected to be in the 60s and overnight lows in the 30s.

.LONG TERM...
(Wednesday through Monday)
Issued at 425 AM CST Tue Mar 2 2021

With the ridge dominating the weather over the next couple days,
clear skies and increasing temperatures will continue through
Thursday afternoon. The next chance of precipitation will be
Thursday night into Friday as an upper level closed low will begin
to enter the region and move southeastward through Oklahoma. Models
and ensembles are in fairly good agreement with widespread
precipitation possible across northern and central Oklahoma. The
track of the cyclone has trended a little further north in recent
model runs, resulting in a dry slot and lower precipitation chances
across southwestern Oklahoma and western north Texas. CAPE continues
to be small, however likely enough to produce a slight chance for a
thunderstorm or two.

Following this cyclone, ridging will again become dominant over the
region. Dry conditions are expected to continue through next
weekend, with seasonably normal temperatures increasing to slightly
above normal by the middle of next week.

southwesterly.
