Rough conditions observed at the Aunu'u wave buoy showed seas of 7 to 8 feet and peak periods about 18 seconds. These observations confirms high surfs and possible strong rip currents that caused a drowning in the village of Sogi.
As the offices recorded each death: direct deaths were caused by the weather itself, indirect ones by something it set in motion.
