Heavy snow fell across the state of West Virginia on the morning of the 7th with lighter snow continuing into the early afternoon as an upper level disturbance crossed through the area. Snowfall amounts ranged from 2 to 4 inches in the lowlands and 3 to 6 inches in the mountains. The majority of the snow fell during the morning commute, prompting school closures and delayed openings.
