As the previous storm departed on the 29th, another area of low pressure formed along a trough in the wake of it over Wisconsin on the 30th. The low then slowly moved northeast to the Straits of Mackinac the morning of the 31st.

As the previous storm departed on the 29th, another area of low pressure formed along a trough in the wake of it over Wisconsin on the 30th. The low then slowly moved northeast to the Straits of Mackinac the morning of the 31st. This led to an area of heavy snow and heavy lake effect snow over much of northwest Wisconsin the 30th into the 31st. Snowfall accumulations of 6 to 8 inches were seen across this area with higher amounts to 11 inches in the Iron County snow belt.
