</html>The Rapid City radar (KUDX), 105 km away, was scanning. The volume nearest the first event began at 13:38 UTC.
3 flood, 3 flash flood, 1 heavy rain. Local standard time, as filed.
Runoff from heavy rain caused minor flooding of agricultural land along White Clay Creek. Flooding and high water levels along White Clay Creek quickly filled Oglala Dam and White Clay Dam. Due to the large volume of water and saturated soils, both reservoirs had to be drained.
Heavy rain of 3.44 inches fell in one hour.
Heavy rain and hail caused flooding in the Sturgis area. Several road crossings across Bear Butte Creek and Deadman Gulch were inundated; including 7th Street, 9th Street, 15th Street, Raccoon Road, and Sly Street.
Three to four inches of rain in an hour and three to five inches of rain in two hours over parts of northeastern Meade County caused rapid rises on small creeks and overland flooding of rural areas. The flooding compromised five culverts and a bridge on county roads.
Three to five inches of rain fell in about two hours over portions of southern Ziebach County, causing rapid rises on small creeks and overland flooding of rural areas. Several county and BIA roads were washed out, including Dupree Road and BIA 9. US Highway 212 near mile marker 121 was also inundated.
As the flash flooding ended, flooding continued along area creeks, with overland flooding of rural areas.
