.DISCUSSION...The busy day weatherwise continues into the evening
across the Medford CWA with numerous watches, warnings, and
advisories in effect.
A front moving through the forecast area this evening is lowering
snow levels across the area. This has brought snows down to near
valley floors. Snow levels near 500 feet continue over Douglas
County and are now down to 3000 feet to the south. The very heavy
rains of earlier along the Coast and over the Coast Range have
now ended and most local rivers will be receding over night.
Areal Flood Warnings are in effect for Coos and Curry counties but
ending this evening. The Point Flood Warnings along the Coquille
River and Deer Creek at Roseburg continue. See PDXFLWMFR for

Meanwhile, where there is snow there is lots of it. 6 to 12
inches fell at Roseburg. 20 inches of snow has been reported on
the Cascade Crest. See PDXWSWMFR for details.
There were also strong winds, especially east of the Cascades,
where peak gusts exceeding 70 mph have been reported. See

The front has moved down to across Siskiyou County and generally
east of the Cascade Crest. A wave on the front will push the
boundary back north to the Oregon Border over night. Additional
snow with lower elevation rain will continue across South Central
Oregon and northern California. However, that will not be the end
of it. A stronger wave will develop on the front, causing it to
pull back north Tuesday across Siskiyou County and Tuesday night
into Wednesday back into Southern Oregon for another round of
moderate to heavy precipitation. The front will then weaken
Wednesday and precipitation will diminish again. There will be a
steep snow level gradient across the area with snow levels as low
as 500 feet in the colder air to the north and as high as 4500
feet south of the front. Everything depends on the location of the
front and a few miles either way can make a big difference in the
impacts.
Thursday 28 February through Sunday 03 March. For the rest of the
forecast term, active weather is expected to continue, although
there appear to be some breaks possible this weekend or early next
week. Some low elevation snow is possible Thursday as another
front and cold upper level trough slide through the area, but no
other unusual late February or early March weather is expected at
this time. Temperatures should trend near or slightly below
normal. The good news, with all of the activity over the week, we
do expect snow pack and seasonal rainfall totals to reach or
exceed normal values for nearly the entire area, which bodes well
for the water season and the coming year. /MKN

.AVIATION...The frontal boundary that produced widespread snow and
rain will continue to move southeast through the overnight hours
and be southeast of the area by 12z Tuesday. Expect VFR conditions
along the coast and a mix of MVFR and IFR conditions inland
through midday Tuesday. Mountain obscurations expected through
09z-12z. Strong southerly winds through the Shasta Valley and east
of the Cascades through 06z-09z. Mountain wave turbulence, and
pockets of low level wind shear in sheltered valleys are possible.

.MARINE...Updated 300 PM PST Monday, 25 February 2019...The cold
front has pushed well S of the area, and winds have shifted to
northerly and diminished. Lingering seas have necessitated a Small
Craft Advisory for Seas through the evening hours. Conditions
will continue to improve thereafter. A long period westerly swell
of around 5 to 8 feet at 20 seconds will build Wednesday night
