Gusty northwest wind will continue into Sunday afternoon, then slowly decrease through sunset. VFR conditions are expected. && .PREV DISCUSSION... /issued 516 PM CST Sat Nov 30 2019/ DISCUSSION... AVIATION... VFR conditions are expected until 012400. The gusts of northwest wind will subside somewhat overnight, but return Sunday morning before slowly decreasing by late afternoon. PREV DISCUSSION... /issued 321 PM CST Sat Nov 30 2019/ DISCUSSION... Winds have shifted to the NNW across NW OK and the panhandles behind the cold front this afternoon, with slower speeds within prefrontal trough just ahead of it. However, as deeper CAA accompanies the front they should increase again especially over northern OK. Will keep the advisory as is for now until 03Z but would not be surprised if it needs to be cancelled earlier. Breezy northwest winds are expected for most of the day Sun behind the front but as the sfc low continues to slide east over the upper midwest, the pressure gradient will loosen up over the plains. Temps will be around 5 to 8 degrees below avg behind the front Sun but then warm up to near or just above avg Mon with redeveloping SSW BL flow and a shortwave ridge moving over the south central CONUS. A wind shift from the north is expected during the day Tue with a very weak surface high accompanying a shortwave trough digging into the Miss. river valley. Very little CAA is anticipated at the surface with this feature. By Wed, another shortwave ridge will move over the Southern Plains ahead of a progressive shortwave trough opening up over the SW CONUS. This feature will impact our region Thu, bringing low rain chances with it mainly over eastern and northern OK.
