Heat indices soared into the 90 to 100 degree range in the Capital District and Mid-Hudson Valley on the 30th, prompting the issuance of Heat Advisories. Scattered thunderstorms developed during the afternoon and evening as a cold front interacted with the hot and humid airmass. Several of these storms became severe, resulting in wind damage. Falling trees and wires resulted in power outages with 6,700 customers losing power in Saratoga County, 1,900 in Warren County, and around 4,000 in the Catskill/Leeds area. One person in Warren County was injured when a tree fell on an RV.
