A dynamic spring storm system that moved slowly east from Arizona into central New Mexico on April 22, 2019 produced widespread showers and thunderstorms, localized heavy rainfall, along with heavy wet snow over the northern high terrain through April 23, 2019. The heaviest snow was focused above 9,500 feet where six to 12 inches fell. Much of the remainder of New Mexico enjoyed much needed rainfall during a normally dry time of year. Rain on snow in mid slope elevations allowed run off to begin in a few creeks and streams.
