A fire was started by a combine 1/2 mile south of the intersection of Road 729 and Avenue 315 in SW Chase county. Aided by 30 MPH northerly winds, the fire raced south and south southeast burning approximately 2100 acres before it was extinguished. A fire truck was damaged and two garages were destroyed.
