Lakeshore Flood in Michigan, May 8 to 9, 2019
Record high water levels over Lake Erie, coupled with easterly winds of 20 to 30 MPH lead to lakeshore flooding across eastern Monroe, and eastern Wayne County. The water level at Toledo peak at 86 inches at 1536 LST on May 8th, with Fermi and Gibraltar peaking at 78 inches and 76 inches respectively about an hour later.

Record high water levels over Lake Erie, coupled with easterly winds of 20 to 30 MPH lead to lakeshore flooding across eastern Monroe, and eastern Wayne County. The water level at Toledo peak at 86 inches at 1536 LST on May 8th, with Fermi and Gibraltar peaking at 78 inches and 76 inches respectively about an hour later. The Village of Estral Beach observed homeowners stranded in their homes due to the flood waters, with Firefighters assisting in evacuations. While Estral Beach residents were hit hardest by the flood waters from Lake Erie, several county beachfront communities also were inundated by water, particularly in Grand Beach in Frenchtown Township, North Shores in LaSalle, Avalon Beach in Monroe Township and Allen Cove in Luna Pier.

The Lake St. Clair water level at St. Clair Shores peaked at 61 inches, which caused flooding in Harris Township, which included Jefferson Road being flooded.
