Intensifying low pressure tracked across the Gulf of Maine toward Nova Scotia during the 3rd. Snow developed during the morning of the 3rd and persisted into the afternoon. Snow fell at the rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour in a narrow band which extended into northern Washington and southeast Aroostook counties. Warning criteria snow accumulations occurred during the early afternoon hours of the 3rd. Storm total snow accumulations across northern Washington county ranged from 7 to 10 inches. A sharp gradient of snow existed across southeast Aroostook county...ranging from 2 to 4 inches across northwest areas to 6 to 10 inches across eastern areas.
