Deep moisture rotated over the area with precipitable water values on the 12Z sounding over 2.0 inches. A shortwave was rotating northward into the area and this helped enhance shower activity through the day.

At 2:50 pm, emergency management reported law enforcement closed the street at the intersection of 16th Ave South and 9th Street in Jax beach due to flooding. At 3:33 pm, law enforcement reported flooding in Jacksonville Beach east of 3rd Street with some cars abandoned in flood water. At 3:35 pm, law enforcement reported 1st Street and Mayport Road were closed due to high water.
