Winds have gusted to over 40 mph across parts of North Texas. These gusty winds along with minimum relative humidities of 15 to 25 percent along and west of the I-35 corridor and dry/dead fuels have combined to produce critical fire weather conditions. Wind speeds will start to decrease to 10 to 20 mph after sunset and to around 10 mph before midnight. With clear skies, and decreasing - but not calm winds --overnight lows will range from the mid 20s to mid 30s across the region. 58 && .LONG TERM... /Issued 359 PM CST Mon Jan 22 2018/ /Tuesday through Monday/ Dry weather along with slowly moderating temperatures are expected through Thursday. Highs will be in the upper 50s to mid 60s and lows will be mostly in the 30s. As a surface high moves to the east Wednesday, southerly winds will return. Relative humidities will start to increase Wednesday night and Thursday. There will be low chances of showers after midnight Thursday night. As a shortwave and cold front approach, there will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms area wide Friday through Saturday. Rainfall totals for the event will range from only a few one- hundredths of an inch across the west to little over 1/3 inch across the east.
