Strong low pressure at the surface tracked towards West Virginia. At the same time, a strong upper level low pressure system strengthened as it crossed east through Kentucky. The combination of the two and an onslaught of colder air brought significant snow accumulations to areas east of Wilmington, Ohio, with light accumulations found along and west of the I-75 corridor.

A broadcast media report from Marble Cliff measured 5 inches of snow, as did the CoCoRaHS observer near New Rome.
The county garage northeast of Lafayette measured 5 inches of snow.
The observer in Springfield measured 4.5 inches of snow. The county garage west of town measured 3.5 inches.
A spotter near Troy measured 2.7 inches of snow. The CoCoRaHS observer near Tipp City measured 2.6 inches, and another observer in Piqua measured 2 inches.
The county garage near West Alexandria measured an inch of snow, as did the CoCoRaHS observer in Eaton.
A CoCoRaHS observer in Miamisburg measured 4.5 inches of snow. A broadcast media report from Moraine had 3.7 inches of snow, while a CoCoRaHS observer in Union measured 3 inches. The Dayton Cox Airport measured 2.7 inches of snow.
The county garage in Xenia measured 4 inches of snow. A social media report from Fairborn showed that 3.7 inches of snow fell there, while a public report from Beavercreek showed 3.6 inches of snow there.
Three inches of snow was reported from Hamilton, with 2.5 inches measured by a spotter in Oxford.
A NWS employee north of Maineville measured 3.5 inches of snow. A spotter near Landen and a social media post from Harveysburg both had 3.3 inches of snow. Another NWS employee southeast of Genntown and the county garage south of Lebanon measured 3 inches of accumulation.
