.UPDATE...
There was some low stratus and patchy fog across the region this
morning, but expect this to scatter out by late this morning. The
12Z sounding this morning showed that low level winds have come
around to the south, with winds aloft becoming easterly. This is
in response to low pressure over the Panhandle of Florida and the
northeastern Gulf of Mexico. Precipitable water values were around
2.1 inches, which is 2 standard deviations above normal. Storm
motion is slow to the north and northwest today. Heavy rainfall
and ponding of water on roadways is a concern again today from
storms. There is a chance of hail in the strongest storms due to
some drier air aloft. However, freezing levels are high around
16kft, so do not expect more than small hail. Wet microbursts are
possible, with wind gusts of 40-60 mph.

Showers and storms are forecast to develop along the Gulf coast
and east coast sea breeze near I-95 by the early afternoon and
then merge across the interior, especially across northeast
Florida in the mid to late afternoon hours. The main change this
morning was to lower temperatures a couple degrees due to the
earlier start to convection expected and current cloud cover.
Highs today will be in the mid 80s to the lower 90s, highest
across southeast Georgia.

.AVIATION...
Low stratus and fog was affecting some of the TAF sites this
morning, but that will lift out by the late morning. Numerous
showers and storms are forecast to develop along the Gulf coast
and along I-95 and merge across the interior this afternoon. So,
the best chance for storms is at KGNV and KVQQ. Convection will
wind down in the evening with loss of daytime heating. Light winds
this morning will become south to southeast around 10 knots in the
afternoon and then become light again in the evening.
