Deaths and injuries are direct and indirect together, as the offices filed them. Damage is property and crops in the dollars of the year, not adjusted for inflation, and only where an office estimated it.

Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Pocatello ID 343 AM MDT Mon Jul 3 2017 .Discussion...The biggest impact this week will be the heat. Model guidance continues to show strong high pressure build in through the week. The Snake River plain, Eastern Magic Valley, and portions of the Southern Highlands will be in the low to mid 90s early this week becoming near 100 by mid week and continuing through the weekend. The long duration of this heat will be approaching records. Steps should be made to limit exposure outdoors, particularly by later in the week. Steps should be made to protect the elderly, kids, and pets. Please, never leave kids or pets in vehicles. Expect isolated dry thunderstorms today and tomorrow mainly for the Lost River/Pahsimeroi mountains and the Montana divide. Monsoon moisture starts to work its way into the area gradually Wednesday then increasing slightly by Thursday and Friday. Thunderstorms will be mostly in the mountains. Thunderstorms will start out mostly dry and increase in moisture making it to the ground, particularly later in the week. For this afternoon, there is a slight chance of afternoon thunderstorms on the Montana and Idaho line, but none are expected at the TAF sites. There appears to be an embedded wave rotating around the high on Tuesday that might produce some isolated dry thunderstorms in the Central Mountains. RS && .FIRE WEATHER...Westerly winds aloft prevail over Southeast Idaho High today even as high pressure begins to build near the Four Corners area. High pressure becomes more pronounced Tuesday through Saturday. The Snake Plain will see temperatures in the 90's through the week and flirting with the 100 degree mark Wednesday through Friday. Some high level moisture will contribute to isolated dry thunderstorms along the Montana and Idaho line today, and to a lesser extent the Lemhi range. There will be a slight chance of afternoon dry thunderstorms in the Central Mountains from Sun Valley to North Fork on Tuesday. Poor nighttime humidity recovery can be expected through the week, especially the middle and upper slopes. Monsoon moisture makes a gradual increase by Wednesday, then stronger by Friday and Saturday. With increasing moisture comes the the potential for overnight thunderstorms. If any storms are to produce rainfall approaching a tenth of an inch, it looks like Friday night and Saturday will be the best chance. RS && .HYDROLOGY...Rivers continue to recede across East Idaho. Teton near Driggs has dropped to action stage, and forecast still consistent in further decreases. Therefore cancelled that advisory. Potential still exists for localized water issues around Hailey. Thus left that advisory in place again with plans to follow up early this week on any remaining issues. That river also still forecast to recede despite drastically warming temps for this week.
