.DISCUSSION...Continue to deal with moisture in the west to
northwest flow which is producing isolated to scattered
thunderstorms. This pattern will remain in place through Saturday.
Quite a bit of smoke continues to get pumped into the region as
well in this flow. We're expecting warm temperatures over the
weekend, but a cold front will arrive on Monday. GFS and European
models have been advertising a widespread band of frontal showers
moving into the central Idaho mountains Monday morning, then the
showers become more scattered during the afternoon across
southeast Idaho as this system begins to split. The NAM doesn't
have quite as much precipitation and there appears to be some run
to run timing differences in the GFS solution. So, these factors
are leading to a bit of uncertainty in the forecast for Monday.
Still looking at cooler temps and generally dry conditions for mid
to late week.

.AVIATION...VFR skies are forecast this period with a chance for
smoke and haze to appear occasionally. High resolution model
solutions are favoring a line of thunderstorms pushing through IDA
this evening between the 01z and 05z hours along with a wind shift.
This is acknowledged in the TAFs but just know that this is based on
predicted thunderstorm activity. This line is not reflected in PIH's
TAF however if the line does reach PIH, amendments will be required.
Winds may gust to 30 mph with outflow from these thunderstorms. A
short period of 12 knot winds are noted at IDA and BYI this evening
and are influenced by potential thunderstorm activity. Otherwise,
winds will be diurnally driven. NP/Valle

.FIRE WEATHER...Will have more isolated to widely scattered
thunderstorms this afternoon and evening again mainly focused in
high elevations.  Zones 475...476 and 422 most affected but all
zones will likely see storms before the end of today.  Will see
isolated thunderstorms again Saturday afternoon and evening.  A cold
front will likely move through Sunday with stronger winds possible
all locations.  For now now warnings in effect as think thunderstorm
coverage will stay in the isolated to widely scattered  and the
potential wind and humidity event Sunday still looks marginal right
now.
