Most showers were over the local coastal waters...with some affecting mainly Saint Thomas and Saint John in the U.S. Virgin Islands and the southeast and north sections of Puerto Rico. This activity is associated with a weak surface trough which will be moving across the area today. As a result...showers and thunderstorms are expected to affect the region. For this afternoon...showers and thunderstorms will develop mainly across the Cordillera Central of Puerto Rico. For the remainder of the work week...passing showers embedded in the trade winds will affect the local islands from time to time...but mainly during the morning hours.
