.SYNOPSIS...
Moisture will gradually increase next week, bringing better
chances for showers and thunderstorms to the region.

&&

.SHORT TERM /Tonight through Monday night/...
Light synoptic flow over South Florida this weekend will allow a
sea-breeze dominant regime. this afternoon...a few showers
developing along the Gulf breeze over Hendry and eastern Collier
counties, with a few more showers over the Everglades. Thus far,
most populated areas along the east coast have stayed dry, but
can't rule out some early evening activity propagating eastward
toward the metropolitan areas with the westerly flow aloft.
delayed sea-breeze onset on the east coast has let temperatures
reach near 90 degrees most locations.

Weakening cold front/surface boundary over Central Florida will
dissipate overnight as it reaches South Florida tonight. Thus,
Sunday will be slightly drier and less unstable. A few showers are
possible over the interior during the afternoon, but activity
should be more sparse than today. By Monday, easterly flow takes
hold, increasing moisture again and focusing afternoon convection
chances over the interior and west coast.

Temperatures will be slightly above normal through the short term,
with maxima mainly in upper 80s, expect for low 90s interior. Low
temperatures will be 70s in urban areas, 60s interior.

.LONG TERM /Tuesday through Friday night/...
Synoptic features for much of next week will consist of
subtropical ridge building into South Florida from the east, with
a broad longwave trough over the eastern United States. This
trough will trigger a series of cold front to pass north of
Florida over the southeastern U.S. As deeper moisture spreads
north and west into Florida. A more summer-like pattern over South
Florida consisting of diurnal showers and thunderstorms developing
along sea-breeze boundaries is expected to initiate Tuesday and
continue to the remainder of the week. With easterly flow, rain
chances will be lowest along the east coast, with likely POPs in
place over the interior through the period. Atmospheric support
for strong convection is low, but certainly frequent cloud-to-
ground lightning will be a concern. Temperatures beneath the sub-
tropical ridge over South Florida will remain a degree or two
above normal on average...with maxima just shy of 90 degrees (low
90s interior) and minima mainly in the 70s.

&&

.AVIATION...
Afternoon sea breeze boundary now pushing inland along the
Atlantic coast, bringing veering winds to a more southeasterly
flow over the Atlantic terminals through the rest of the afternoon
hours. Some MVFR periods may affect most of the Atlantic
terminals under low cloud coverage, along with some possible VCSH.
Kept mention of thunder out of the forecast since lightning is
more likely over interior areas. Winds are expected to again
become light and variable later tonight and through the overnight
hours. APF should remain VFR through the forecast period with
westerly flow also becoming light.

&&

.MARINE...
Easterly flow will dominate into next week with speeds less than
15 knots. A few showers and thunderstorms are possible this and
Monday afternoons over Lake Okeechobee, with better chances,
including for the nearshore Gulf and Atlantic waters, Tuesday
through the remainder of the week.
