A strong upper level wave approaching the area led to a rain and snow mix developing over southwest North Dakota. The greatest snow amounts were over the higher terrain of far southwest North Dakota, in Slope and Bowman counties, where up to 10 inches of heavy wet snow fell.

Amidon received nine inches of snow. Multiple vehicles were reported in the ditch along Highway 85 from approximately five miles southwest of Amidon to eight miles northeast of Amidon.
