Trained spotters indicated between 2 to 5 inches of snow fell.
A closed upper level low located along the Arizona New Mexico border produced snow showers across much of western and central New Mexico late on the 31st through the day on the 1st. Snow showers were mainly focused along a weak Pacific cold front that quickly moved northeast.
Deaths and injuries are direct and indirect together, as the offices filed them. Damage is property and crops in the dollars of the year, not adjusted for inflation, and only where an office estimated it.

Snowfall amounts were generally light, ranging from 1 to 3 inches, but up to 5 inches was reported west of Gallup.
