Multiple vehicle accident reported on the Mountain Parkway at mile marker 57. The cause of the accident was black ice.

At least 30 car accidents caused by freezing rain and black ice on area roads were reported from around the county. Conditions became so bad at one point that six major roads had to be closed due to ice. Kentucky 172, KY 201, KY 825, KY 1428, KY 40, and US 460 all had to be shut down temporarily due to the icy conditions.
