A cold and strong area of low pressure continued to move east across Arizona New Years Day. Heavy snow had ended over much of Arizona before midnight...with some heavy snow lingering over Apache County.

Between 7.7 and 9 inches of snow fell in the Show Low area. Snow started falling by evening on New Years Eve with most of the snow falling after midnight. Two miles north of McNary received 7.7 inches of snow.
