Two traditional longboats capsized just less than 2 miles away from the mouth of Pago Pago harbor during the American Samoa Flag Day race. Seas of 6 to 9 feet have impacted the race which caused the cancellation of the longboat race.
Deaths and injuries are direct and indirect together, as the offices filed them. Damage is property and crops in the dollars of the year, not adjusted for inflation, and only where an office estimated it.
