Colder air was moving in aloft on the 25th, as a mid level disturbance passed. Frequent snow showers and a few snow squalls formed over West Virginia on the 25th. Daytime temperatures remained in the 20s across high elevations with 30s in the river valleys. The last of the heavier snow showers occurred after sunset on the 25th, and were more efficient in accumulating. Snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches were common in the central and southern mountain counties, with an inch common across western lowland counties. Snowshoe measured a 6 inch accumulation. Temperatures were in the teens for dawn on the 26th.

County school districts in the southern and central mountain counties canceled or delayed classes for the 26th.
