Across portions of southwestern South Dakota, heavier precipitation fell and temperatures became just cold enough for significant snowfall over higher elevations of Shannon and far western Bennett counties.

A strong upper level system moved across the region, bringing rain and snow to much of western and south central South Dakota. Across portions of southwestern South Dakota, heavier precipitation fell and temperatures became just cold enough for significant snowfall over higher elevations of Shannon and far western Bennett counties. Snowfall of six inches to around a foot was noted from Oglala to Porcupine and Batesland area.
