A potent low pressure that moved across the Tennessee Valley and eventually through the Mid-Atlantic region, brought several inches of snow to eastern Kentucky on January 21, 2014. The reported snowfall amounts varied from as little as two tenths of an inch just south of the city of Harlan in Harlan county, to as much as 7.5 inches in Cressy in Estill county. The area of greatest snowfall occurred across an area generally north of the Highway 80 corridor north to the I-64 corridor.
