A TROUGH APPROACHING FROM THE NORTHWEST WILL DISRUPT THE TRADE WIND
FLOW SUNDAY AND MONDAY...ALLOWING FOR AFTERNOON SEA BREEZES... MUGGY
CONDITIONS... AND SPOTTY SHOWERS. TRADE WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO RETURN
TUESDAY BRINGING MORE COMFORTABLE CONDITIONS THROUGH THE WEEK.

THE EVENING RADAR DATA SHOWS A FEW DISSIPATING SHOWERS OVER THE
LEEWARD SLOPES OF THE BIG ISLAND... AND SPOTTY SHOWERS MOVING
ALONG WITH TRADE WINDS OVER THE WINDWARD SLOPES AND COASTAL
WATERS. UPSTREAM OF THE BIG ISLAND... SATELLITE IMAGERY DEPICTS A
SHOWERY STRETCH OF LOW CLOUDS HEADING FOR THE EASTERN HALF OF THE
STATE. THIS AREA WILL BRING INCREASING SHOWERS TONIGHT TO WINDWARD
AREAS FROM THE BIG ISLAND TO OAHU.

TRADE WINDS WILL BE ON THE DECLINE SUNDAY AND MONDAY AS A SURFACE
TROUGH PASSES THE ISLANDS TO THE NORTH. THE TRADES WILL HOLD ON
NEAR THE BIG ISLAND... BUT THE FLOW WILL VEER OUT OF THE EAST SOUTHEAST
OVER THE SMALLER ISLANDS...ALLOWING AFTERNOON LEEWARD SEA BREEZES
AND NIGHTTIME LAND BREEZES TO FORM. MUGGY CONDITIONS WILL
PREVAIL THROUGH MONDAY. THE SAME MOISTURE MOVING INTO THE WINDWARD
WATERS TONIGHT WILL LINGER SUNDAY AND MONDAY CONTINUING PASSING
SHOWERS TO WINDWARD AREAS. LEEWARD AREAS WILL SEE PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES
OVERNIGHT WITH CLOUDY SKIES IN THE AFTERNOONS AND PASSING SHOWERS.

THE TROUGH WILL LIFT NORTH TUESDAY ALLOWING HIGH PRESSURE TO NUDGE
OVER THE STATE...BRINGING BACK EASTERLY TRADE WINDS. TRADES WILL
BRING MORE COMFORTABLE... LESS HUMID CONDITIONS TO THE ISLANDS
WITH SHOWERS AGAIN FOCUSED OVER WINDWARD SLOPES. MODELS ARE
DEPICTING FLUCTUATING AMOUNTS OF MOISTURE MOVING ACROSS THE
ISLANDS THROUGH THE WEEK...POSSIBLY INCREASING WINDWARD SHOWERS
TUESDAY NIGHT AND THEN AGAIN THURSDAY NIGHT.

EXPECTED FOR THE PERIOD. TRADE WINDS SHOULD EASE UP SLIGHTLY AND
VEER ESE SUNDAY AS A SURFACE TROUGH APPROACHES THE ISLANDS FROM
THE NW. LEEWARD AND INTERIOR AREAS OF THE ISLANDS MAY SEE
AFTERNOON CLOUD BUILD-UPS.

WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO DECREASE TONIGHT AND THE SCA WAS DROPPED
SATURDAY AFTERNOON. 20 KT WINDS WILL LINGER TONIGHT AND SUNDAY OVER
THE ALENUIHAHA CHANNEL...ALONG THE HAMAKUA COASTAL WATERS...AND
THE NEAR-SHORE WINDWARD WATERS OF MAUI AND MOLOKAI.

EAST FACING SHORES WILL SEE A DROP IN SURF THIS WEEKEND AS TRADE
WINDS DIMINISH. A SMALL SOUTH SWELL WILL FILL IN SUNDAY AND
MONDAY...THEN DECLINE THROUGH MIDWEEK.
