A nearly stationary band of heavy rain developed on the 4th of July across portions of southern middle Tennessee. A bulk of the rainfall occurred during the late morning through late afternoon hours. Lincoln county was particularly hard hit where 5 to 10 inches of rain were measured. In addition to the flash flooding, widespread areal flooding occurred and numerous roads were closed or became impassible due to high water in some areas through the evening of July 6th.

3 flash flood, 1 flood, 1 heavy rain. Local standard time, as filed.
Highway 110 near Kirkland had around a foot of flowing water over both lanes. Ditches were full.
Deer Trace Road was closed due to high water.
A couple drove off the road along ASA Smith Road. Water was so deep that they had to be rescued. No injuries were reported.
Areal flooding persisted through the 6th and affected many fields and some roadways.
A report of 2.65 inches was measured over 12 hours. Minor flooding was reported.
