Water releases by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from the Jamestown Reservoir and the Pipestem Reservoir continued to cause flooding on the James River at Columbia and Stratford throughout July. The James River at Columbia crested at 15.39 feet or 2 feet above flood stage during the morning hours on the 10th. The James River near Stratford crested at 14.99 feet or 1 foot above flood stage during the mid-morning hours on the 25th. Significant low-lying agricultural lands along with some county roads were impacted from the flooding.
