Upslope surface and boundary layer flow in advance of an upper level short wave trough along with a brief period of frontogenesis set up for a snow event that reached warning criteria at a few locatoins. By the time the snow ended late on the 22nd, there was a 20 to 30 mile-wide swath of 6 to 7 inches of snow, from just east of Sublette in Haskell County through southern Grant and northern Stevens Counties, and into northwest Morton County near Richfield. From 4 to 5 inches of snow fell inside a line from 15 miles southeast of Syracuse in Hamilton County, to Northwestern Morton County to near Meade, and back to southeastern Hamilton County. A larger area of 2 to 3 inches of snow fell south of a line from north of Syracuse in Hamilton County to near Cimarron in Gray County to northeast of Pratt in Pratt County. North of this line, a trace to one inch of snow fell.
