A fire consumed 87 acres of dry brush near Kaupo on the Valley Isle of Maui. There were no reports of property damage or injuries.
Deaths and injuries are direct and indirect together, as the offices filed them. Damage is property and crops in the dollars of the year, not adjusted for inflation, and only where an office estimated it.

THIS HAS BEEN TRANSLATING INTO A FAIR AMOUNT OF SHOWER ACTIVITY ALONG THE EAST SIDES OF THE ISLANDS...ALTHOUGH RAINFALL TOTALS HAVE REMAINED ON THE LIGHT SIDE. MODELS REMAIN IN GOOD AGREEMENT WITH THE HIGH PRESSURE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST WHILE A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IN THE GULF OF ALASKA SINKS TO THE SOUTH. THE ASSOCIATED UPPER LEVEL SYSTEM IS FORECAST TO ALSO SINK SOUTHWARD TO AROUND 38N 167W...WITH AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH EXTENDING TO THE SOUTH...BUT REMAINING NORTHWEST OF THE MAIN HAWAIIAN ISLANDS.
