Bands of rain showers ahead of a storm's cold front were moving through the region during the early morning hours of October 20th. There were a few isolated strikes of lightning within some of these rain showers as well. As one heavy shower raced northward across the Hudson Valley, it briefly strengthened into a thunderstorm as it reached the southeastern Adirondacks. This storm briefly produced hail reaching the size of quarters before it weakened as it headed towards the High Peaks of the Adirondacks.
