Clearing skies, calm wind, and recent rain and snowmelt resulted in a classic dense fog episode across parts of south-central and southeast Wisconsin. Visibilities dropped to several hundreds of yards to less than 1/4 mile. Several airplane flights were delayed at airports. Newspaper reports indicated that several vehicle accidents occurred.
